What is LEADER?
LEADER is part of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE). LEADER uses local knowledge to promote a joined-up ‘bottom up’ community-led delivery of RDP grants. In England this is being delivered by Local Action Groups (LAGs) and it targets rural areas with specific needs and priorities.
How local action groups work
The LEADER Funding Programme is aimed farmers, foresters, businesses and community groups within rural North and North East Lincolnshire to help;
- Create jobs
- Develop rural businesses
- Support the rural economy
The Northern Lincolnshire LAG is made up of people from the local community, the local public and private sector with representatives from both North and North East Lincolnshire.
Priorities the LEADER Programme are:
- Support micro and small businesses and farm diversification
- Boost rural tourism
- Increase farm productivity
- Increase forestry productivity
- Provide rural services
- Provide cultural and heritage activities
The upcoming programme will cover the rural areas of North and North East Lincolnshire.
While we are not currently in a position to accept applications yet, we welcome enquiries, so please feel free to get in touch at any time if you’d like to know more, or if you’ve already got a project idea.
