Category: NewsIf you are a small or medium independent enterprise in Old Town and would like to start up or expand a business in Old Town, you may be eligible to apply for a grant.
The Old Town grant scheme is part of a programme to revitalise Hull’s historic heart by improving both the visual landscape and quality of commercial premises. It also aims to encourage small and medium sized enterprises to occupy vacant or underused premises.
The Old Town programme also plans to refurbish Trinity Market and reintroduce regular outdoor markets to Old Town.
This helps make the most of Old Town’s assets, in particular Whitefriargate, an area of thriving café bars, visitor attractions, restaurants and independent retailers. The area will become more attractive to residents, businesses and visitors through the support provided, creating a strong, economic presence in the east of the city.
Grants of up to 50 per cent of project costs are available but must be matched with funding from the business’ own resources (other publicly funded grants or loans cannot be used for match funding).
This scheme provides funds to support –
