The Energy Entrepreneurs Fund is a competitive funding scheme to support the development of technologies, products and processes in energy efficiency, power generation and storage.

Phase 5 of the Energy Entrepreneurs Fund, a competitive funding scheme to support the development and demonstration of state of the art technologies, products and processes in the areas of energy efficiency, power generation, and heat and electricity storage, is now open for applications.

The Energy Entrepreneurs Fund seeks the best ideas, irrespective of source, across these energy technology areas from the public and private sector. The scheme particularly aims to assist small and medium-sized enterprises, including start-ups, and those companies that are selected will receive additional funding for incubation support.

A total of £9 million is available for projects. There are two opportunities to enter:

  • Phase 5a – expressions of interest are required by 5pm on 25 November 2016 and the deadline for applications is noon on 9 December 2016;
  • Phase 5b – expressions of interest are required by 5pm on 20 January 2017 and the deadline for applications is noon on 3 February 2017.
