Humber Business Funding Expo

Over 240 people attended the Humber Business Funding Expo at the Hull Guildhall on Wednesday 25th January. The event was organised by Technical Assistance Partnership and the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership. It brought together 20 different organisations who provide funding for business in the Humber region.

Delegates were able to talk to representatives from these organisations and seek advice on which funding streams were available to best suit their business requirements.

The organisations and grant schemes present were:

Humber Local Enterprise Partnership –  Growth Hub

Offers quick and easy access to local and national  resources to support your business. Business Advisors based across the Humber offering free support. Both Grant and loan funds are available supporting business growth.

Technical Assistance partnership (TAP)

A number of organisations across the Humber and North Yorkshire area. Providing support and advice for ESIF, ERDF and ESF funding.

Northern Lincolnshire – Leader fund

A capital Grant scheme aimed at business and community groups within rural North and North East Lincolnshire.

Humber learning Consortium – Community Grants

An ESF programme of community grants between £5,000 and £15,000 for not for profit groups with the aim of helping unemployed people into work.

Sirius

Provide low cost business loans along with free business advice, planning and support for both start-up and growing businesses.

Hull Old Town Grants Scheme

The scheme is aimed at SME’s based in Hull’s old town to encourage the improvements of business premises. Also to support new business start-ups in the old town.

Chamber Acorn Fund

Offers gap funding loans to SME’s who are normally excluded from the high street commercial lenders. Loans for start-ups are also provided.

University of  Lincoln – the innovation programme

An ERDF funded grant programme designed to enable SME’s to advance and develop their innovation ambitions with funding, support and collaborative university partnerships.

Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund

A £400m fund for the Northern Powerhouse to be provided directly to SME’s in the Northern Powerhouse region. Supporting businesses form early stage seeking micro investment to high potential businesses seeking to grow.

University of Hull – Innovation vouchers & grants for R&D

New funding for growth orientated local SMEs that are looking to grow their market share, improve productivity and create new employment through the development of new innovative products. Up to £50k match funded grants available from Easter 2017.

Green Port

A £25.7m RGF fund designed to capitalise and develop business growth in the renewable energy sector.

Enterprise Europe Network

The worlds largest business support network combining expertise in innovation and international business. With 625 partners across 60 countries offering free tailored support and advice to help businesses innovate, grow and succeed.

Export for Growth

Deliver both direct and grant support to both first time exporters and those already exporting to allow business to grow their international markets.

East Riding of Yorkshire – Enterprise

Providing business support to connect local companies with the best opportunities for growth.

ENRG

An enterprise support service for people thinking of starting an enterprise together with those who are already in enterprise.

Manufacturing Growth Programme

Provides free advice and support for manufacturing SME’s and can provide up 35% of the cost of implementing plans through a growth / improvement grant.

Skills Support for the Workforce

Providing fully funded training to up skill the workforce. The scheme also provides training and support for staff facing the threat of redundancy.

Yorkshire Apprenticeship Hub

Provides support  and advice to employers in the East Riding to increase awareness and understanding of apprenticeships.

Job Centre Plus

Funding opportunities to work in partnership with companies as part of the Welfare to work objectives.
