IPPR North is a charity, and a think tank, with offices in Manchester and Newcastle. They carry out research on a wide range of issues relevant to the north of England and convene national and local decision-makers to discuss public policy. Further information about IPPR North is available at ippr.org/north.

There current research project focuses on the support for small and medium-sized businesses (0-249 employees) in the North. They want to understand the barriers SMEs currently face and how policy at a local and national level can better support them.

This research will inform a report that will be published online and made freely available to the public. It will be used to help us communicate to politicians in Westminster and across the North the importance of small businesses to the North’s economy, and to set out what they need to survive and thrive

IRRP North are inviting people who run or manage small businesses in the North to take part in their online survey. The link is below – it should take no more than 3-4 minutes to complete.
