With SMEs playing a huge part in reaching the Government’s net zero carbon emissions targets by 2050, with fuel prices continuing to rise and corporate social responsibility increasingly becoming a consideration for businesses, Ricardo Energy & Environment is carrying out the ‘White Van Plan’ research study. This is to help better understand how best to provide support to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the transition to electric vehicles. The key findings of the study, whilst carried out on behalf of UK Power Networks are transferrable to other areas of the UK and highlight the three key barriers faced by SMEs: cost, infrastructure and access to information (see the PDF summary report).
They are carrying out some follow up research on SMEs and electric vehicles, specifically looking at the process of getting an electric vehicle for SMEs – where do they go for EV information, the vehicle and the charge point. This is to look for ways to help smooth the process of getting an electric vehicle for SMEs in the first place. SMEs’ feedback is essential to ensure their needs are met and that they have a say in how a future with electric vehicles is shaped.
Therefore they have created this mini survey that takes less than 3 minutes to complete: https://survey.alchemer.eu/s3/90435018/SME-Electric-Vehicles-Mini-Survey closing 29 April 2022.
