Apply for a duplicate tax disc
Fill in a V20 ÂApplication for duplicate tax disc form and take it to your nearest Post Office that issues duplicate tax discs.
You must replace your tax disc if itÂs been lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed – or you canÂt read it because itÂs faded.
If you’re the registered keeper
Go to your nearest Post Office with:
- the vehicle registration certificate (V5C)
- the completed V20 form
- £7 fee (if needed)
- the original tax disc if you still have it
If you don’t have the V5C registration certificate or you’re not the registered keeper
Send one of the following to DVLA, Swansea SA99 1DD:
- a completed V62 application form (with a £25 fee)
- a V5C/2 and a completed V62 application form
You’ll then be sent a new V5C – once you’ve got it take it to your nearest Post Office with:
- the completed V20 form
- £7 fee (if needed)
- the original tax disc if you still have it
When you donÂt need to pay the fee
You donÂt need to pay the £7 fee if:
- the vehicle is exempt from paying vehicle tax
- the tax disc was sent by the DVLA and has got lost in the post
- the tax disc can’t be read or the colour has faded
- a V14 ÂApplication for a refund of vehicle tax has been rejected by the DVLA
