Book, change and cancel theory tests for your trainee instructors

    Book and manage the approved driving instructor part 1 test for your trainee instructors. You’ll need to be registered to use the trainer booking facility for theory tests.

    The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) and Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) have merged to form the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

    You’ll also need the following from DVSA:

    • business ID
    • username
    • password

    You can book test slots up to 3 months in advance. You won’t have to give the candidate’s details when you book the tests.

    You must confirm the details of the candidate taking the test by 4pm a full working day before the test, eg by 4pm on Wednesday if the test is on Friday.

    Sundays and public holidays are not counted as working days.

    Cancel or change a test

    You must give at least 3 clear working days notice when cancelling or changing a test to get a refund.
