Change the date of your practical driving or riding test

Change the date or test centre for your practical driving or riding test. You can do it online between 6am and 11:40pm. You can also check the test date.

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) and Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) have merged to form the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

    You’ll need the following:

    • Great Britain or Northern Ireland driving licence number
    • application reference number

You must give at least 3 clear working days’ notice to change your test date or you’ll have to pay again. Sundays and public holidays don’t count as working days.

You can change your appointment up to 6 times – after that you’ll have to cancel your test and book a new one.

Check your driving instructor is available on the new time and date.

You can use your theory test pass certificate if you don’t have your application reference number. You can find your theory test pass certificate number online if you have lost your original letter.
