The company imports and distributes decorative concrete overlays systems and epoxy resin flooring products for use in the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors. ECS UK has been operating for just over 12 months and in that time has developed a customer base both here in the UK as well as abroad. From its basic range of products the operation has expanded to include a line of overshoes for the flooring and paving markets and an enhanced range of urethanes and Polyaspartic flooring products. With the expansion of the product range as well the company needed to hold larger quantity in stock due to the increase in customer base and were looking to relocate lo larger premises. The company’s long term goal is to manufacture the cementitious range of products rather than import them from America and Grimsby is ideally located for the distribution of these products to Europe. Working with E-factor to develop a RGF Funding application and supporting documentation, the Operations Director, Karen Kennedy has successfully applied for a Regional Growth Fund grant to facilitate the following developments:

• Move to larger premises – refurbishment of unit to include mezzanine floor are containing offices, reception area to ground floor, specialist manufacturing area, industrial racking and storage areas.
• Purchase specialist equipment – Epoxy Disperser and VATs, material handling equipment and forklift truck, specialist racking
• Provide specialist staff training course to include induction, machinery operation and handling training and use of specialist manufacturing equipment.

A grant of £19,999 has been received against a total project cost of £39985 and it is anticipated that a full time warehouse assistant position and a new Sales & Marketing manager’s post will be created in the next three years as a result of this company expansion.
