GSB Print and Design Ltd

The business was established in 1975 and has since grown into one of the area’s leading printers through continual re-investment in state of the art printing machinery and the acquisition of a competitor in 2012.

With a wide customer base across both the public and private sector they have now identified an opportunity to capitalise on the interest being generated around an innovative new HSE reporting pad they have designed which has already been taken up by several companies within in the renewables sector.

With the ever increasing importance being placed on HSE in the industrial and commercial sectors, they believe there is a huge opportunity to expand on these products and to sell them into a wide range of applications.

The intervention provided by the Growth Hub advisor allowed the client to look at ways that both capacity and margin could be improved to satisfy this increasingdemand and the ways in which any necessary investment could be funded.

After considering a move to new premises the client has now negotiated on the purchase of a disused warehouse adjacent to the current factory which will be refurbished and annexed from the existing building.

The client has successfully applied for RGF funding support towards these costs and a new laminating machine which will enable GSB to carry out the finishing processes that are currently out sourced to companies outside of the region.

It is believed that with these improved facilities and greater control over quality and turnaround time that the business can become more competitive on a national stage and experience significant growth in the coming years.
