The Prime Minister has set out plans to transform the training and skills system to help the country recover from coronavirus. The plans include a Lifetime Skills Guarantee to give adults the chance to take free college courses valued by employers and new entitlement to flexible loans to allow courses to be taken in segments, boosting opportunities to retrain. Winter Economy Plan
The Chancellor outlined additional government support for businesses and workers impacted by coronavirus across the UK. Key features include:

Hull businesses are being
offered an exciting opportunity to become more energy efficient, thanks to a
new council-led scheme that launches today.
The Hull Business Energy Efficiency Scheme (HBEES) is a new project led by Hull
City Council and part-funded by the 2014 – 2020 European Regional Development
Fund Programme.
The scheme offers a whole host of measures that will assist businesses in
reducing their contribution to greenhouses gases, including the installation of
new technology, access to expertise and advice, as well as access to grant

Humber Social Enterprises Wanted – Free Support to Grow
The Humber LEP Business Growth Hub is looking for more of the region’s Social Enterprise to come forward and enrol onto its new pilot scheme of support designed specifically for the growth of not-for-profit organisations in the Humber region.
The Humber Social Enterprise Accelerator pilot (Humber SEA pilot) is currently supporting a number of social enterprises which have the potential to grow, create jobs and scale-up their work with their communities and groups of interest.

University of Hull WRIPA (White rose industrial physics academy) Project
The aim of this new University of Hull project is to increase Graduate employment for Physics students from 55% to 85% over a course of 3 years by sourcing opportunities such as internships and Industry placements around the local Humber area.
The project which is funded by office for students predominantly focuses on skills gaps and using the funding pot to increase the skills of Physics students to make them more attractive to employers in the current job market. The
