The post holder will sit within the central Humber LEP Growth Hub team, and will provide specific advice to businesses in relation to workforce development, apprenticeship recruitment and industrial placements. The Humber LEP’s Business Growth Hub has been allocated almost £850,000 of new funding to help support the economic recovery of businesses in the Humber.
This funding forms part of the Humber LEP’s updated Coronavirus delivery plan – which sets out how the LEP will prioritise existing resources to work with our partners to help the Humber’s businesses and people through the next phase of the COVID-19 economic impact.

Selling Online Overseas Accelerator Programme 2020

Selling your products or services online can rapidly grow your international sales. Effectively setting up your business and marketing your offer on some of the platforms available can propel your brand, expand your reach and tap into new markets.
To help you accelerate your international business growth, the Department for International Trade (DIT) is offering a free six week programme for eligible* businesses in Yorkshire who are looking to take advantage of the huge potential that selling online presents.

DIT will be launching its new European Structural and Investment Fund
(ESIF) for eligible Yorkshire and the Humber businesses later this
year.
They recommend submitting an EOI sooner rather than later so that they can plan and be able to expedite subject to eligibility etc.
Match-funded grants of between £1,000 and £9,000 will be available
(subject to eligibility and availability).The funding can be used to support a
number of activities, including market research, translation services,
international social media and SEO, market visits and more.

NPIF exceeds £20m lending milestone in Humber region
The Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund delivered by British Business Bank, has facilitated over £21m of investment across more than 54 transactions in the Humber region.
NPIF which has been investing since 2017, delivering equity finance, debt finance, and microfinance solutions ranging in size from £25,000 to £2m to businesses in the region is working closely with the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership and Growth Hub.

As announced
by the government on Friday 03 July 2020, the Humber Business Growth Hub will
be taking receipt of a share of the £10 million Kick-starting Tourism Package.
This funding will be available to help support small and medium businesses
(SMEs) that operate in the tourism industry in the Humber region; that is the
City of Hull, the East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East
Lincolnshire.

Humber Business Growth Hub Supports Thousands of Businesses in the Past Year
Almost 3,000 businesses from across the Humber region were supported by the Humber LEP’s Business Growth Hub in the last year.
Overall, 2,972 businesses received either light, medium or high intensity support from the Hub from April 2019 – March 2020, which was an increase of 149 businesses from the year before. In addition, businesses that worked with the Growth Hub in 2019-20 were able to go on to secure £7.1M of private sector investment to enable their growth plans.
