As announced
by the government on Friday 03 July 2020, the Humber Business Growth Hub will
be taking receipt of a share of the £10 million Kick-starting Tourism Package.
This funding will be available to help support small and medium businesses
(SMEs) that operate in the tourism industry in the Humber region; that is the
City of Hull, the East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East
Lincolnshire.

Humber Business Growth Hub Supports Thousands of Businesses in the Past Year
Almost 3,000 businesses from across the Humber region were supported by the Humber LEP’s Business Growth Hub in the last year.
Overall, 2,972 businesses received either light, medium or high intensity support from the Hub from April 2019 – March 2020, which was an increase of 149 businesses from the year before. In addition, businesses that worked with the Growth Hub in 2019-20 were able to go on to secure £7.1M of private sector investment to enable their growth plans.

The Chancellor Rishi Sunak today set out a ‘Plan for Jobs’ that will spur the UK’s recovery from the Coronavirus outbreak.
Delivering his Summer Economic Update in Parliament, the Chancellor announced a package of measures to support jobs in every part of the country, give businesses the confidence to retain and hire, and provide people with the tools they need to get better jobs.

£6.5m boost for SME manufacturers looking to recover from Covid-19 impact
Small
to Medium-sized (SME) manufacturers across England have been given a £6.5m
funding boost to help them recover from the Covid-19 pandemic and address key barriers
to growth.
The
Manufacturing Growth Programme, which is funded by ERDF and delivered by Oxford
Innovation Services, has been extended until December 2022 and will give a
further 2800 companies access to industry experts and grants to tackle
immediate business issues and support improvement plans.
This
additional backing will safeguard/create 3500 new jobs and takes the total
package of support the initiative is able to

Essential workers now have access to 1,000 face shields, which have been made available across the Humber community thanks to Ron Dearing UTC, the Humber LEP and the Humber Local Resilience Forum.
Ron Dearing UTC, Hull’s employer-led school, has been working with the local business community and education establishments to design and manufacture the protective equipment.
