Small businesses boosted by bounce back loans (GOVUK)
The new Bounce Back Loans scheme, recently announced by the Chancellor, will allow businesses to borrow between £2,000 and £50,000 and access the cash within days. Loans will be interest free for the first 12 months, and from Monday 4 May, businesses can apply online through a short and simple form (which can be found here).
The Government, which has been consulting extensively with business representatives about the design of the new scheme, will provide lenders with a 100% guarantee for the loan and pay any fees and interest

UK businesses driving innovation and development will be helped through the coronavirus outbreak with a £1.25 billion government support package.
The targeted and tailored help would ensure firms in some of the most dynamic sectors of the UK economy – ranging from tech to life sciences – are protected through the crisis so they can continue to develop innovative new products and help power UK growth.

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme update
There has been an an important change to the scheme relating to employee eligibility:
you can now claim for employees that were employed as of 19 March 2020 and were on your PAYE payroll on or before that date; this means that you will have made an RTI submission notifying HMRC of payment of that employee on or before 19 March 2020 employees that were employed as of 28 February 2020 and on payroll (i.e. notified to HMRC on an RTI submission
