New funding and support will be made available to women through a second round of Innovate UK’s female-only competition.
Innovate UK has announced that it will run a second phase of its Women in Innovation awards.
The programme, which will launch later this year, will consist of a funding competition and support package to encourage more female-led innovation.

Siemens plans further boost to Humber Enterprise Zones
Siemens have announced plans to establish a new state-of-the-art factory to manufacture and commission trains on one of the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Enterprise Zones at Junction 36, Goole.
These plans, which could mean an investment of up to £200m, could see an addition of 700 jobs for the Humber region, in skilled engineering and manufacturing roles.
A further 250 possible jobs could also come about during the construction phase of this development; with approximately 1,500 indirect jobs expected to be created throughout

Humber LEP sets the standard for careers
The Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is the first Local Enterprise Partnership in the country to have achieved a national licence as a Licensed Awarding Body for the Quality in Careers Standard.

Enterprise Zones are great places to do business for both new and expanding firms, benefiting from government backing and incentives for investment. Established in 2012, they are at the heart of the government’s long term economic plan, supporting businesses to grow.
At 1,238ha (3,059 acres), the Humber has the largest Enterprise Zone in the country, comprising a package of 30 sites to suit the needs of a wide range of businesses.
