Growth Hub Live – Humber BIZ Week Events
The first details have been released about two major new events for this year’s Humber Business Week.
Growth Hub Live will bring together dozens of organisations which can help SMEs grow. In a new format for Business Week, the organisations will combine their efforts on two days at two “hub” venues – ensuring delegates can make the most of their time during the week and increasing the opportunities for networking.

£8m Local Growth Fund secured to help local businesses grow
£8m has been made available from the Local Growth Fund to support small and medium sized businesses in the Humber area to make capital investments and create jobs.
The funding was secured by the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) as part of its recent Growth Deal. The funding will be used to extend the LEP’s successful Growing the Humber grant programme which has already supported more than 300 businesses with £25m in grants and levered in almost £120m private investment.

SME manufacturers urged to have their say in the next National Manufacturing Barometer
Small to Medium sized manufacturers (SMEs) in the UK are being urged to take part in the next National Manufacturing Barometer, in order to help shape future Government policy and highlight current trends and opportunities.
The rallying call, made by organisers SWMAS and Economic Growth Solutions, is designed to increase the number of respondents from 270 to over 500 firms, making it one of the largest industrial surveys in the country.

Humber LEP Recruits new board members
The Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has recruited eight new private sector members to its Board.
After a high number of applications and a competitive interview process, the Humber LEP has chosen eight experienced directors; they will bring expertise in important areas of business and strategic management, to help drive forward the growth of the Humber economy.
The refresh of the Board will bring further representation from local businesses and education and training providers.

Coastal Communities Fund benefits Humber region
Four projects across the Humber region have been awarded Money from the Coastal Communities Fund. The fund encourage economic growth and jobs in coastal towns and communities.
All of the projects awarded funding in this latest round were submitted or supported by Coastal Community Teams. Set up by the government in 2015, each team receives £10,000 towards the development of a blueprint for economic growth.
