The UK Space Agency has launched a new programme to help businesses unlock the benefits of satellite data and services.
Global satellite services currently support activity that contributes £370 billion to the UK economy, which is around 17.7% of our GDP. As the cost of accessing space continues to fall and the pace of innovation increases, a greater number of businesses now have the opportunity to harness the advantages offered by satellites through enhanced imagery, connectivity and navigation capabilities.

Employment and skills issues the focus of next Manufacturers Network meeting
Businesses in Hull and the East Riding with employment and skills issues are welcome to attend next week’s Hull & East Yorkshire Manufacturers Network.
This month’s event, organised by Hull & East Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (HEY LEP), will support those who have expressed an interest in tackling employment and skills issues that they have faced.
It will look at these issues across the region in detail and will have three key objectives:
1) To raise awareness of the current funding and support

Hull & East Yorkshire’s Local Enterprise Partnership (HEY LEP) hosted a successful VIP – Meet the Cornerstones Employers event in Hull’s iconic Guildhall last week.
Wednesday 27 September saw a host of employers, business leads and careers leaders from school and colleges in Hull and East Yorkshire come together for a networking session.
Organised by HEY LEP’s Careers Hub, 10 Cornerstone businesses and partner employers showcased an array of employment opportunities for young people post-education.
These employers also work with the Careers Hub
The HEY LEP has a Hull & East Yorkshire Manufacturers Network – Employment & Skills Event on 12th October.
