Round 4 of the Smart Scheme is now open.The scheme tackles the funding gap often experienced by many small and early-stage companies with innovative ideas and high growth ambition and potential.
It offers co-funding to UK-based pre-start-ups, start-ups, micro businesses and SMEs, to carry out science, engineering and technology R&D projects which could lead to successful new products, processes and services.

Small businesses can apply for feasibility study funding in advanced materials; biosciences; electronics, sensors and photoncs; or ICT.
Small and micro businesses can apply for a share of up to £2 million to help them to carry out feasibility studies into technology projects in 4 key areas that underpin the future development of high-value products and services in the UK.
Innovate UK is seeking studies for innovative projects in the fields of:
advanced materials
biosciences
electronics, sensors and photonics
information and communication technology

Innovate UK: Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
Summary
The Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme helps businesses to innovate and grow. It does this by linking them with a university and a graduate to work on a specific project.
Each KTP is a three-way partnership between a business, an academic institution and a graduate. The academic institution employs the recently-qualified graduate who works at the company. The graduate, known as the ‘associate’, brings new skills and knowledge to the business.
A KTP can last between 6 months and 3 years depending

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport with Innovate UK is funding a special strand of Innovation Vouchers to help UK businesses get expert advice in protecting their business from cyber crime which could help them to achieve certification under the Cyber Essentials scheme. The scheme is open to Start ups, micro and SME’s.
You can get an Innovation Voucher worth up to £5,000 to pay for an external expert. This expert will give you advice on cyber security for your business

Cross-platform production in digital media
