Northern Stars is a Tech North initiative designed to support ambitious digital entrepreneurs from across the North of England, by connecting digital founders and showcasing their talent on the national and international stage.
Northern Stars will raise the profile of inspiring digital startup businesses and broaden the startup community’s connections with investors and a wider support network.
Working in partnership with organisations at local, national and international levels, Northern Stars offers digital entrepreneurs a series of regular events, missions and networking opportunities.

The Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act received Royal Assent in March 2015. It’s expected to be implemented to the timescales as set out by the government.
The measures that affect companies aim to:
reduce red tape
increase the quality of information on the public register
enhance transparency
The Act intends to provide a boost to the economy, making it easier for businesses to find the valuable information they need.

First Steps Enterprise Fund
A new fund is offering loan-grant(90% loan 10% grant) packages to charities and social enterprises working in communities in England to help them grow their services and become more sustainable.
You can apply for up to £30,000 and eligible organisations will have been operating for longer than one year.
It is a pilot partnership between Asda Foundation and the Social Investment Business Foundation.
Deadline is noon Friday 11 December 2015.
