Organiser: Hull and East Yorkshire Growth Hub

Event Type: Workshop

If you wish to begin the journey of understanding some of the impact of your company behaviour on climate change, and how to measure this, this webinar is for you!

The world of carbon comes in many guises! In this webinar we will cover two main areas that will help you strengthen your business sustainably – Carbon Emissions and Carbon Footprints, how you can measure them for your business, and what impact understanding them can have on your business sustainability.

Running your own business can be tough at the best of times, however given the current climate change agenda and the UK Government’s Net Zero Carbon target, strengthening your business sustainably now makes more economic sense than ever before.

Understanding the language around Carbon Emissions and Carbon Footprints is increasingly important for winning new clients, tender submissions and demonstrating your environmental credentials.

This 4-hour workshop will explore all of the key steps needed to guide your business through understanding their Carbon Emissions and Carbon Footprint. This will include a look at the following:

  • What are carbon footprints and carbon emissions?
  • The three Scopes of carbon emissions and what activities fall into each.
  • How to estimate Scope 1 and 2 carbon footprints.
  • Becoming carbon neutral or net zero carbon.
  • What’s a product carbon footprint and how is this different to a company carbon footprint
  • The dangers of “greenwashing”
  • What to do next with your Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon footprint

Who Should attend:

This workshop is ideal for leaders and managers of small businesses with an interest in sustainability. It will be particularly useful for businesses that are being asked about their carbon emissions from customers and need to know where to start, estimate their Scope 1 and 2 carbon footprint, or companies who are keen to demonstrate their carbon footprint as part of a sustainability journey.
